We have discussed in previous blogs about customers fitting blinds themselves and it is possible to do so but not everyone wants to and unfortunately, some customers simply can’t.
So we offer the full service from start to finish.
BlindsRus offer to come to your home to show you the many different types of window blinds that are available.
We display our many swatch books full of beautiful materials, colours and patterns and show samples for all the window blind types available.
We help with interior design and offer patterns and colours that compliment your décor.
Listening to your needs and then recommend the best solution for each window according to your preferences, the location of each window and the required level of privacy and light shading or blocking.
Our first job is the accurate measuring of the window area when we are fitting blinds.
We do all the Measuring:
Measuring needs to be accurate, ideally within 1mm.
Sometimes do use a normal tape measure, but for best results laser measuring equipment is much more accurate.
The full width and height of the window should be measured in multiple places to ensure the blind will fit correctly.
Identifying the narrowest sections must be done and clearances added when needed to the final blind dimensions.
This may be in the recess or outside the recess.
Is the window level?
Are there any snags?
Are there any tiles in the recess that the blind will hit at the bottom?
How far out do the handles of the windows protrude which may catch the blind?
How high from the ground will the headrail of the blind be installed?
(New European legislation advises strict criteria for installing blinds with chains and cords. This is due to children becoming entangled and in some cases, fatal accidents have occurred by strangulation.
It is imperative that the legal requirements for fitting blinds with cords and chains are adhered to. The installed height and length of the cords and chains allowed is relative to the installed height of the headrail of the blind from the ground.)
A drawing needs to be done with all notes on.
Yes, this is complicated but by requesting us to do the measuring we take away the risk and stress of doing it correctly. We take on the responsibility for the window blinds fitting properly.

Our Quotation
We will then send you a quotation:
When we have taken our measurements and selected which window blinds are the ones you like and function with your window. You have chosen the colour schemes and patterns are noted, we go away and prepare a written quotation for you.
This is usually the same day.
Accepting the Quotation
Keeping it a simple process, all you have to do is check the quote:
- The description
- The price
If all is acceptable just click the acceptance button in the email and confirm you wish to proceed.
(We do request a deposit with the order and this is explained in the quote).
We do the Fitting:
After receiving your acceptance and deposit we check everything and order the blinds from our UK manufacturer.
Once the window blinds arrive in our stock, we call you immediately to arrange the free fitting.
Time Scales
Times for the blinds to be made do vary and the list below shows current lead times for each type:
Roman Blinds – 3 weeks
Roller Blinds -2 weeks
Venetian Blinds – 2 weeks
Vertical Blinds – 2 weeks
Pleated Blinds – 2 weeks
Perfect Fit Blinds – 3 weeks
Shutters – 16 – 20 weeks
We do the complete fitting

We do not leave until you are totally happy with your window blinds and ensure everything works perfectly as it should.
Our team carry workshop equipment to alter blinds if needs be. They can even make custom mitred units for bay windows whilst in your home.
