BlindsRus.co.uk were asked by a returning customer to offer a window shading solution for their recently converted Barn.
The Barn had 4 Velux Skylight windows and seven other windows which were at a much lower level, In fact almost at floor level.
Our customer had created a beautiful home with a modern feel and with installed high-quality furnishings and carpets.
They wanted something to match both the quality and style and the window blinds should blend with the choice of decor.
We set about selecting the right kind of blind and held detailed discussions with the customer.
We took swatch books into the room and colour matched the materials for the blinds with the new decor.
Velux Skylight Blinds
We recommended Skylight Blinds for the Velux roof mounted windows which were very neat roller blind style but in a custom frame that neatly fitted into the Velux window frame.
We specialise in this kind of window blind. Easy to operate and they look modern and are easy to operate with no cords at all.
Roller Blinds
We then sourced a similar ‘frame’ mounted roller blind for the low-level windows which had the same headrail cassette and frame as the Velux Skylight Blinds and also sourced the very same colour roller blind material for the frames.
Each window recess was measured exactly. We noticed that all the windows were different sizes by just a few mm.
This is why custom measured and fitted blinds work so well.
Rarely are windows the same size and each blind has to be made to fit exactly.

The job was a tricky one to fit but we took our time and each blind was fitted in each recess to the mm. The results were very impressive.
The low-level window blinds worked in the same operating manner as the Skylight Roof Blinds and looked exactly the same.
The subtle mist grey of the roller material also blended perfectly with the decor. Not a difficult choice as we had over a dozen types of grey to choose from.
When all the window blinds were finally installed the result was not only very impressive, it was just what the customer wanted and offered complete control of privacy and light in the two large rooms we completed.
The customer was very happy with the result and advised they would always call on us in future for any further window blinds requirements.
